Mayor Sullivan encourages Braintree residents to support Hurricane Harvey relief efforts

Braintree, MA – Mayor Joseph Sullivan announced today thatthe Town of Braintree is encouraging residents to donate to those affected by HurricaneHarvey in Houston, Texas by supporting local and national non-profits. 


“While I do want to recognize that Braintree residents areeager to collect and donate tangible supplies to help our fellow Americans inneed, this can actually impede Red Cross relief efforts by diverting time and energyto manage, transport, and distribute these donations”, said Mayor Sullivan. Henoted that Town employees have begun a financial collection effort in whichresidents can contribute to as well via check. The money will benefit one ormore of the following organizations.





  • American Red Cross, www.RedCross.org call 1-800-RED-CROSS or Text HARVEY to 90999 to make a $10.00 donation



 “The best and quickest way to help the people ofsoutheastern, Texas is to make a financial donation of any amount and we wantto encourage that if possible” Sullivan said
