Christine O’Shaughnessy of Mindfulness Presence
On December 13, 2019, the Partnership sponsored Christine O’Shaughnessy of Mindful Presence for The Science of Mindfulness. Christine introduced 50 participants to mindfulness meditation, the science behind it, and how to practice. The program featured strategies for slowing down, taking notice, being present and managing stress, anxiety and depression.
Pizza and snacks were enjoyed by all who attended. Participants received copies of the New York Times Bestseller “10% Happier - How I tamed the voice in my head, reduced stress without losing my edge, and found self-help that actually works” by Dan Harris
A special thanks to our volunteers and partners for participating in this fun and informative program. Our volunteers included Public Health Nurse Jean McGinty, ADA Coordinator Kristina Ziniti, and Partnership members Christine Fosco, Kathi Wood, Diana Cleary, and Marianne Barret. Sharing valuable resources with program participants included our partners at The Sun Will Rise Foundation, Alan-on, The Family Restored and the Mass Organization for Addiction Recovery.
