Statement from Mayor Charles C. Kokoros:
This is a historic victory for the Town of Braintree. First, I would like to thank the voters. Our residents have rallied together over the past eight months and with this vote have shown a commitment in the future of our children and community as a whole. I want to thank Lisa Heger and Jen Dolan for leading the Vote YES for Braintree Schools campaign and all of the volunteers for the many hours spent getting the word out about the importance of today's election. I also want to thank Mayor Joseph Sullivan and Superintendent Frank Hackett, who began the first phase of this project. Their efforts established the foundation for two new middle schools here in Braintree, as well as support for enhancements district wide.
In spite of the hardships presented by the pandemic, our community showed its truth strength and character today. We should all be proud of the kindness and generosity shown in today's vote. We will continue to make a better Braintree together.
