On August 30, 2021 just after 11:00 A.M., the Rockland Trust Bank located at 405 Washington Street was robbed. Since that incident, Braintree Police Department detectives and members of the FBI Boston Violent Crimes Task Force have been following investigative leads in an effort to identify a suspect. Using evidence collected at the scene and analyzed by the Massachusetts State Police Crime Scene Services Section, a suspect was identified on August 31, 2021 and an arrest warrant was sought and issued from Quincy District Court on the same date.
The suspect is identified as David Poulos, 33 years of age. He has addresses out of Braintree and Rockland. On Tuesday, August 31, 2021, Poulos was arrested in the City of Lynn by members of the FBI Boston Violent Crimes Task Force and taken into custody on two probation warrants. Poulos has a conviction in 2017 related to the September 3, 2016 unarmed robbery of the same Rockland Trust Bank in Braintree.
Poulos, who is also believed to be involved in the July 27, 2021 robbery of the same bank, is now facing charges relating to both incidents and will be arraigned in Quincy District Court.
