Nicole Taub Profile PhotoMayor Charles C. Kokoros is pleased to announce that Nicole Taub has been named chief of staff.

Taub was named chief of staff, effective July 1, after being appointed by Mayor Kokoros as interim chief of staff in January. She is the first female chief of staff for the town, as well as the first Latina chief of staff.

"Nicole is a tremendously talented administrator and lawyer with great leadership skills," Mayor Kokoros said. "She is truly an asset to the Town."

Taub started with the Town of Braintree as the town solicitor in July 2018 under the previous mayoral administration. In this position, she provided legal counsel to all town departments, boards and commissions.

Prior to working for the Town of Braintree, Taub was the senior staff attorney with the Boston Police Department for 11 years. In this position, she provided legal counsel to the police commissioner, command staff, human resources, labor relations and other divisions on matters relating to internal policies and procedures, legislative proposals and personnel and disciplinary maters. Taub also represented the department in civil, criminal and administrative proceedings, drafted and reviewed contracts, responded to public record requests and more.

Taub holds a Juris Doctor from the Northeastern University School of Law and was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 2005. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in criminal justice from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida.
