As a result of the predicted snowstorm for this afternoon, Mayor Charles C. Kokoros is declaring a snow emergency.

A snow emergency will be in effect starting today at 12:00 noon and lasting until 12:00 noon tomorrow afternoon. During this time period, there will be no on-street parking allowed on any public road. The Police have been authorized to tow any vehicle deemed to be an obstruction to snow removal.

Please utilize our off-street parking locations, which include:

  • Smith Beech Parking Lot
  • Sunset Lake 
  • Braintree Golf Course 

Trash pickup for today will proceed as scheduled. Trash and recycling pick-up will be delayed by one day beginning on Tuesday. If your scheduled pick up is Tuesday, your pickup will be on Wednesday and all trash and recycling pick-up will be delayed by one day for the rest of the week.

Additionally, there will be no afternoon sessions for elementary, Monatiquot School Kindergarten Center and East and South Middle school students. All PreK students will be released at 11:40am and there will be no extended in-person programming. There are no changes to the new schedule for Braintree High School students. Mayor Kokoros is asking that all residents refrain from any non-essential driving during today’s storm in order for DPW crews to quickly and completely clear our roads.
