Whether tackling a home, basement or garage cleanout, getting rid of “household” hazardous waste is a serious environmental problem, and the Town has a solution. This event will be held on Saturday, September 25th from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at 90 Pond St. Braintree organizes this event to provides access to environmentally approved disposal for its residents.
Most household, lawn, garden, automobile, and boat chemicals are accepted: $5 for every 5 gallons or 5 pounds of material. This includes oil paint (NO LATEX PAINT ACCEPTED as it can be dried out and disposed of in the trash). Other items are solvents, fertilizers, hobby supplies, poisons, oils, marine chemicals, cleaning fluids and pool chemicals, to name a few. Also collected are mercury -containing items & fluorescent bulbs. No batteries.
