Mayor Kokoros invites residents to attend a Remembrance Ceremony in memory of the 13 US service members who were killed in a suicide bombing at Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, Afghanistan on August 26th, 2021.
The ceremony is tomorrow Friday, August 26th at 10:00 am outside of Town Hall on the Memorial Mall. Those who plan on attending the ceremony are encouraged to wear red. R.E.D. is an acronym that stands for Remember Everyone Deployed.
People across the
country wear red every Friday and the initiative was created to remind people of the brave men and women who are currently deployed. Additionally, people wear red on Friday’s to help spread the message of how important it is that we keep our active military service members in our thoughts.
