The Town of Braintree’s annual July 4th celebration “Braintree Day” will be held this Saturday June 25th. The Grand Marshall of this year’s parade will be Jack Ryan. The parade will commence at 11:45 AM. The Parade route will begin from the Dunkin Donuts and Richardi’s Original Submarine Shop on Hancock St. The parade will continue north on Hancock St and continue north on Washington St through South Braintree Square. The parade will end at Hollis School.

 

There will be no parking on Hancock St or Washington St during the parade which will last approximately 90 minutes from the 11:45 commencement. In addition, there will be a number of road closures beginning at 11:00 AM. 

 

Following the parade, there will be a celebration at Braintree High School beginning at 4:00 pm. The celebration will include live entertainment, activities for children, food trucks and the day will conclude with fireworks at 9:30 pm.

 

On Tuesday July 4th, as we celebrate our Nation’s Independence, Town Hall, Non-Emergency buildings and the Trash and Recycling center will be closed.  Additionally, trash and recycling curbside pick-up will be delayed by one day.

 

On Wednesday, July 5th our Summer Concert series continues at Sunset Lake from 6pm-8pm with Studio Two performing Beatles songs.

 

The summer fun will continue on Thursday, July 6th with our first “Party in the Park” of the season. You are welcome to attend this free event from 6pm-8pm at Dyer Hill Park. If you have any questions, please contact the Recreation Department at 781-794-8900 with any questions.
