DISCIPLINARY HEARINGS RELATED TO BRAINTREE POLICE DEPARTMENT EVIDENCE ROOM CANCELLED FOLLOWING RETIREMENT OF
INVOLVED EMPLOYEES
Braintree, MA – The Braintree Police Department was scheduled to hold disciplinary hearings relative to administrative charges brought against Deputy Chief Wayne Foster and Paul McSoley on Friday, August 24, 2018. The disciplinary hearings were the final phase of the investigative process, which included a review by the Attorney General’s Office and Kroll Associates. The Kroll reports remain available at www.braintreema.gov. The hearings, which are required before discipline can be imposed, have been cancelled as both employees have decided not to contest the findings of the reports and have retired effective immediately.
“Mr. Foster and Mr. McSoley failed to fulfill their responsibilities as members of the Braintree Police Department and engaged in conduct that is inconsistent with the Department’s rules and regulations,” said Mayor Joseph C. Sullivan. “With their retirements, this sad and difficult chapter is now closed.”
Under the leadership of Chief Paul Shastany, the Police Department will continue to implement enhancements to the evidence management system while continuing their pursuit of accreditation to better serve the residents of Braintree.
