Are you interested in taking a healthy walk while also learning about the history of Braintree? Well if your answer is yes, we have two very interesting walking routes that you should enjoy.
Routes
The first walk, “South Braintree Town Center” route provides a walk among some unique architecture and historical landmarks in South Braintree. The second walk, “East Braintree Waterfront” route, provides a more challenging walk with the hills of East Braintree but also at the same time some breath taking views of the Weymouth Fore River along Braintree’s coastline.
Development
These two walking routes were developed by WalkBoston, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving walking conditions in cities and towns across Massachusetts and promoting the general public to “get walking.” The Town of Braintree, through Mayor Joseph C. Sullivan’s office, in collaboration with WalkBoston kicked off efforts in 2010 to encourage residents and the general public to walk for better health.
