The Town of Braintree requires that all dog owners must register their dog(s) each year.
The purpose of this Ordinance (PDF) is to protect the health, safety, and welfare of all the inhabitants who frequent and live in the town. It is further the purpose of this ordinance to prevent the needless health hazards caused by dog bites and dog feces upon public and private properties.
Dog Licensing Period
The 2020 dog licensing period will run from April 1 until June 30. All renewal requests either in person, by mail or online, must be submitted by this time to avoid a late fee. The licenses will be valid from April 1, 2020, through March 31, 2021.
Register Your Dog Online
Beginning April 1, 2020, you can register your dog online for the current licensing period. Use Braintree’s Online Dog Licensing System to license or register your dog.

Annual Rabies Clinic
The Annual Rabies Clinic will be held on Saturday in early May (date to be announced), at Town Hall and will run from 10 a.m. until Noon. The vaccination fee per animal will be $15. Clinic sponsored by the Town of Braintree, Braintree Jaycees and Dr. Joseph Cosman, DMV of the VCA.
The Office of the Town Clerk will be open during normal business hours for dog license renewals and new licenses.
