This notification describes the ongoing sanitary sewer overflow that is occurring in the Town of Braintree. If this overflow continues for eight hours (8) another notification will be provided, otherwise, a cessation notification will be issued.

Avoid contact with these waterbodies for 48 hours after the discharge or overflow ceases due to increased health risks from bacteria and other pollutants. The discharge or overflow consists, or likely consists, of untreated or partially treated sewage and waste. Drinking water is not affected by this discharge.
